About the roleAs a Water Management Officer within the Water Operations and Compliance business unit, you will be responsible for managing water resources in Tasmania.
Lead and manage projects to assist with continuous improvement and growth of branch plans, including water management planning, water use, monitoring, regulation, and dam safety.Build productive working relationships with stakeholders including farmers, Hydro Tas, Tas Water, and Tas Irrigation.Provide education to irrigators to improve compliance with water usage requirements.Advise on applications for dams and water allocations, water management, and related matters.Carry out investigations for breaches of permits and licences or other illegal actions.Some weekend or public holiday work may be required by agreement, and you may be required to work outside regular work hours.
