Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:We are currently recruiting a VP – Corporate Finance in Sydney, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced, results focused, global organisation that values diversity. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Head of Corporate Finance – Asia Pacific, to build out the Corporate Finance business in Australia. They will have the opportunity to build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organization more broadly on a regional and global basis.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior support of both M&A and Equity Private Placement ("EPP") transaction primarily in the Energy Transition sector, covering Asia Pacific with a key focus on Australia.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Origination with new and existing clients and supporting the execution of M&A and EPP deal transactions in the Energy sector.Holding a key leadership/coordination role in the transaction execution process on day-to-day basisPerforming financial modelling including valuation and pricing analysesPreparing and delivering presentations, pitchbooks and marketing materialsDriving the initiation of new client relationships and expanding the business franchise across industriesAssisting to maintain strong client relations during and after the deal execution process.Working in collaboration with other team members as well as colleagues from the financing business lines based locally and overseasProviding guidance and development of junior team members including appropriate delegation and review of tasksMaintaining strong connectivity with the market, understanding the needs of the different corporate clients and industry groups, leveraging on market intelligence to provide feedback internally and improve capabilities within the team.Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:Bachelor's or master's Degree or equivalentAt least 6 years of relevant experience in M&A or Investment BankingProven capability building strong relationships with corporate clientsStrong technical knowledge of M&A transactions, modelling and analyticsStrong ability in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and ExcelBehavioral Competencies Required:Ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships, with demonstrable communication skillsProven analytical skills as well as exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skillsCommercial acumen, strong corporate knowledge and persistence in addressing clients' needsStrong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levelsStrong sense of accountabilityAbility to work in a team environment and with teams based in different geographical locationsProven ability to work in an evolving multicultural environment with people with diverse, international backgroundsFunctional Relationships:Internal: staff from business divisions and support functions locally, regionally and globallyExternal: clients and prospects
