As the Risk & Assurance Specialist, you will work across the business to plan and deliver second line of defence Control Governance team activities, including the independent and objective assessment of business controls design and operating effectiveness programs across the Zurich Financial Services Australia (ZFSA) businesses.
This activity is performed in accordance with Zurich's Internal Controls Integrated Framework (ICIF) and its implementation applies to internal controls within Zurich Financial Services Australia (ZFSA).
In this role you will support the Head of Controls Governance to:
Deliver the annual Internal Control Assessment (ICA) and ICIF programs for the ZFSA, GI and Life businesses.
Assists in the business' rollout, implementation, and monitoring of the ICIF program, including applicability and gap assessments and remediation activities.
Review and challenge management with regards to the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of processes and control activities.
Assists in monitoring quarterly management attestation processes, the identification and reporting of internal control issues and execution of action plans.
Seek opportunities to innovate and streamline controls activities.
Prepare and present outcomes of risk assessments to management.
You will also support the business in the interpretation and application of relevant policies, provide guidance in their documentation and self-assessment, and assist in the provisioning of training.
Important to your success – let's grow together You will have a strong risk and controls background with tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, technology, or a related discipline.
Insurance and/or Financial Services experience will be held in high regard, Big 4 experience will be a distinct advantage.
Sound knowledge and experience of Line 1 internal control frameworks / methodologies are essential.
Professional qualifications in accountancy, finance audit, technology (such as CA, CPA, CFA, ACA, or IIA, etc.)
would be a distinct advantage.
