The Vice President, Commercial Operations will lead all aspects of commercial operations to support the successful launch and commercialization of Annexon Biosciences' therapies. This role is responsible for developing and executing operational strategies that enable sales, marketing, and market access teams to maximize performance and deliver results. The VP will oversee sales operations, commercial analytics, incentive compensation, CRM systems, and other key functions to ensure operational excellence and data-driven decision-making across the commercial organization.
Responsibilities include: Lead the design and implementation of commercial operations strategies to support the sales, marketing, and market access teams. Oversee the team responsible for MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review process, print and fulfillment operations, meeting and congress planning, and speaker bureau logistics to ensure smooth execution of all commercial initiatives. Oversee sales operations, including territory alignment, quota setting, incentive compensation, and performance tracking. Manage the development and optimization of CRM systems and other commercial tools, ensuring efficient use and seamless integration across teams. Drive commercial analytics and reporting to support data-driven decision-making, including sales forecasting, market analysis, and performance metrics. Partner with the marketing and sales leadership teams to design and manage market mix assessment and field force effectiveness initiatives. Lead pricing, contracting, and managed care operations to support access and reimbursement strategies. Develop and implement incentive compensation plans in conjunction with HR and that are aligned with corporate goals and sales performance. Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations governing commercial operations. Optimize resource allocation across commercial functions, ensuring alignment with business priorities and return on investment. Serve as a key member of the commercial leadership team, contributing to long-term commercial strategy and planning. Education, Experience, and Skills: Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. 15+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 7 years in a leadership position. Proven track record of successfully leading commercial operations in support of product launches and commercialization efforts. Strong understanding of sales operations processes, CRM systems, and commercial analytics. Experience developing and managing incentive compensation plans and sales force effectiveness programs. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Preferred: An MBA or advanced degree preferred. Experience in rare diseases, specialty pharmaceuticals, or biologics. Familiarity with market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies. Salary Range: $270,000 to $330,000
