Description Rare and exciting position for a qualified Veterinary Nurse. Full-Time position.
Dreamworld Life Sciences is one of the largest native wildlife parks in South East Queensland with hundreds of native animals including the second largest koala population.
The primary responsibility of this role is to undertake daily animal husbandry in a hospital and quarantine and keeper setting; veterinary nursing for a range of species in a zoo environment; high level of record keeping; administrative duties; management of veterinary resources and assets as required.
This is a physically demanding role that involves animal husbandry tasks and manual handling, therefore the ability to perform physically demanding work is essential. Sound written and verbal communication skills are essential as interaction with a diverse range of people from differing cultures is involved, and report writing and record keeping is a requirement of the role.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge and extensive experience working with and handling a wide range of Australian native fauna, and previous veterinary nursing experience. The successful applicant must have a Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing, with additional certificates in zoo keeping being highly desirable.
Flexibility with working hours across a 7-day roster is essential, and weekend work will be involved. A current manual driver's license is also required.
