Ventia is the largest provider of Defence estate support services and facilities management across Australia. We have over 20 years' experience delivering base support capability from hospitality to rescue services to warehousing.
Join a team of Vehicle Mechanics and provide support to live Defence training activities on Ventia's combined Defence maintenance facility located at Derwent Barracks, Hobart. You will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of military vehicles, 4WD's, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks!
We are now accepting applications from Light Vehicle Mechanics with the intention of upskilling/training for the right candidate into a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. This full-time opportunity offers 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday with an early finish on the Friday.
Early Finish FridayTraining & Upskilling ProvidedTools Of Trade ProvidedUniform & Safety Boots ProvidedOn-Site ParkingOpportunity To Become Qualified On Battle Tanks!Key Responsibilities: Maintenance tasks including inspection, classification, diagnostics, and repairs on Light, Medium and Heavy Vehicles and Plant Equipment.Completing service tasks on equipment during routine maintenance.Replace or repair damaged and malfunctioning parts following inspections and effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on a wide range of vehicles.You will adhere to all regulatory and contract specific requirements.Key Skills & Attributes Include: Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level.Demonstrated experience on Light and/or Heavy commercial vehicles.Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair.Possess a MR, HR or HC licence.Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's Licence.Diversity
