PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for organising, controlling, monitoring and coordinating the operation of vehicles for the transportation of goods.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Organising, controlling, monitoring, and coordinating the operation of vehicles for the transportation of goods
Communicating effectively with clients and responding to their requirements
Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently
Devising and putting into place transportation schedules and receiving orders and bookings
Ensuring that goods are stored and transported in an appropriate manner which will keep them in their original condition and quality
Liaising with drivers regarding the progress of transportation service, ensuring efficient and high-quality service and serving as point of contact for all drivers
Coordinating activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of transport vehicles
Managing paperwork associated with contracts and services provided and maintaining accurate administrative records
Ensuring that all vehicles are regularly inspected and serviced
Ascertaining that the workplace is safe and free from hazards and complies with Occupational Health and Safety standards
ACADEMIC AND TRADE QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualification required is AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma level qualification with 2 years mandatory relevant work experience. Three years relevant experience will be considered suitable in place of the above qualification.
