About the role We are currently seeking a Training & Competency Coordinator to join our Rail Operations hub based in either Melbourne, Sydney or Perth on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The purpose of this role is to provide guidance and the management of competencies for all blue collar and salaried employees engaged in rail safety work.
Additionally, develop and deliver training packages, as required, for internal and client specific requirements.
Key responsibilities Communicate and liaise with relevant Rail Training Organisations on funding, revisions, and updates to maintain required levels of competence for Rail Safety Workers.Coordinate and consult with sector leaders, project leaders and management to understand the rail worker disciplines and functions of individual projects.Coordinate and consult with projects around training and competency requirements.Process, book and coordinate relevant training/induction requirements for Rail Operations personnel and projects.Understand key client requirements to maintain the appropriate levels of training and competence for Rail safety workers across Rail Operations Australia (Metro, TFNSW).Assist with the auditing of individual projects for Rail Safety Worker training and competency management, as required.Provide support and advice pertaining to training and competencies to rail operations projects.About you Experience in the management of competencies or related fieldDemonstrated experience applying training and competency management skills in an operational environment.Ability to communicate on all levels – Directors to operatives.Strong negotiation and influencing skills.Ability to collate data, prioritise and carry out trend analysis.Experience in the Rail Industry Worker System desirable.We work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
