The Role:
The HR and Training Manager is a valuable member of the leadership team and will be responsible for providing people services across the workforce, as well contributing to the broader business management planning.
Reporting into a newly appointed site based General Manager, this is a great time to join the business to support and embed the change of leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
This role is broad and requires someone who has the strategic planning capability, but enjoys a hybrid role, straddling strategy and day to day HR advisory.
In this role you will:
Partner with the General Manager and senior leadership team to align people and business strategy and enable effective workforce management
Embed and continuously improve HR systems, including employee and industrial relations, performance management, training and development, remuneration, recruitment, and talent retention
Lead effective delivery of the HR & Training team, uplifting capability and ensuring the development of strategic and operational plans, ways of working, systems and behaviours
Model and set high standards of behaviour and performance for employees and contractors and actively support the community.
Ensure HR contributes to positive relationships and ways of working across all Abbot Point Operations teams
Key Qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can bring a hands-on approach while influencing at the strategic level.
Excellent at building relations at all levels of an organisation.
The ideal profile:
10+ years of Human Resource experience in ports, mining, construction, or related industries with experience supporting blue collar workforces
Degree in Business Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline
5+ years of leadership experience in a similar senior-level HR role
Experience working in both large, and small organisations
Experience working in regional and remote communities
