Join Iluka's new resource development project in Balranald at operational readiness stage; play a crucial role in shaping our systems, processes, and culture from the ground up.
About us

Iluka Resources is a global critical minerals company, with a proud 70-year history, entering a pivotal time of growth.
With a bright future ahead, we are seeking team members for our exciting Balranald operation where we will be deploying a new mining technology.
Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals.
The technology we have developed enables access to ore bodies previously thought to be uneconomic - in future, we hope it brings potential to unlock other deep deposits of critical minerals, including those nearby to the Balranald project.
About the location

Iluka's Balranald operation is located approximately 30kms outside of Balranald township in regional NSW.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who lives locally.
Or if residing within the regional area; Mildura, Swan Hill, or surrounding towns, there is a drive-in drive-out option and allowance.
Alternatively, we will consider fly-in/fly-out from Melbourne, or bus in/bus out from Adelaide.
About the role

The Trainer and Assessor will play a hands-on role in coaching, training, assessing and guiding the workforce on all matters of training and development.
The role will undertake training and assessment of all employees in relation to mandatory requirements for performing roles at the Balranald operation.
Your accountabilities will include:

Review and update site procedures, risk assessments and related documentation and resources as required by legislation and policy and help facilitate implementation throughout the workforce.
Ensure adequate training is provided to ensure that coverage throughout the operational areas is maintained.
Ensure documentation and records meet relevant Iluka and legal requirements by reviewing, maintaining and updating training documents and LMS system records.
Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to training and assessment activities.
Assist with the development of Balranald related training material.
Train and assess workers and ensure completion of all relevant documentation and record keeping for each assessment.
Assist with the development and update of training and assessment packages, training plans and training materials as part of the document control process.
Source and manage training background and competencies for new workers.
Arrange RPL assessments where necessary.
Complete Verification of Competence assessments on personnel that attend site in relation to high risk work licenses prior to them undertaking any of those activities on site.

About you

Demonstrated experience in a training and assessment role.
Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
Operational experience in a heavy industry or mining environment (desirable).
Strong knowledge of training and assessment requirements to ensure an effective and safe operation.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing training and assessment systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
