Kick start your career with one of Newcastle's largest employers The City of Newcastle (CN) has an exciting career opportunity for a Trainee Ranger to join our Planning, Transport & Regulation team.
This 2-year fixed-term contract opportunity will see you work closely with highly experienced Rangers and Senior Rangers to assist with investigations, gather evidence and take appropriate action to resolve identified breaches in accordance with legislative provisions, CN policies, procedures and guidelines.
You will also play a key role in providing high quality, courteous customer service in responding, investigating and resolving customer requests, enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner through consistent and fair practices.
As a Trainee Ranger, you will also assist in implementing the provisions and relevant actions of CN's Companion Animal Management Plan.
This includes seizing/handling of livestock and companion animals, including menacing, dangerous and restricted dogs and investigating dog attacks, barking dogs and other related complaints.

What is next?
If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of our recruitment process, you will be required to attend 1 x group assessment centre for a 3-hour period on Monday 25 November.
This position will require a pre-employment medical which will be conducted after the assessment centre has been completed.
