The CDPU is responsible for managing and responding to notifiable diseases under the Public Health Act 1997, mitigation of associated risks and related threats, and stewardship of the National Immunisation Program in Tasmania. Our team is vibrant and multi-disciplinary, comprising health informatics, epidemiology, medical, nursing, allied health, and support staff.
This is a unique opportunity to join the Health Intelligence team within the Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Unit (CDPU). This dynamic role is responsible for managing a small team of health informatics personnel, leading the development and implementation of information management processes and the maintenance of cloud-based databases and communication systems. The role: Direct and coordinate the work of the Information management (IM) Team and staff.Mentor staff and ensure all operational systems, processes, and policies are effective, efficient, and fit-for-purpose.Work with other teams within PHS to ensure the information needs of the unit are met.Oversee and coordinate work plans, ensuring robust processes for managing case and contact files and other confidential data are maintained.Ensure a rapid response to changes in IM processes relating to the management of cases and contacts records for all communicable diseases.Propose, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate health intelligence solutions.Participate actively in the development of new and revised case and contact management forms.Work in conjunction with database administrators to facilitate database modifications.Details of Appointment: Permanent, full-time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time and part-time vacancies.Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022. You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
