This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to how First Nations and Native Title matters are considered in protected area and wildlife authorities. This is a new position within the Permissions Management & Ecotourism team and forms part of departmental initiatives in better recognising, and respecting, the aspirations and interests of First Nations people in decision making.
The Team Leader leads the Native Title assessments permits team within the Permits unit in its assessment and administration of legislative authorities associated with the use of QPWS managed estate and wildlife authorities, including the management of negotiations with customers and stakeholders about the conditions associated with proposed authorities. These functions will assist the team in meeting the requirements of the Commonwealth and State Native Title and cultural heritage legislation.
