The Team Leader – Home Loans is a key leadership role responsible for guiding a high-performing team within the Credit function. This role supports the Head of Credit in delivering customer and operational outcomes aligned with NGM Group's strategic objectives.
Supporting Greater Bank lending, as a subject matter expert in home loans, you will hold advanced knowledge in policy, delegated lending authority (DLA), and credit guidelines, ensuring the efficient processing of home loan applications while meeting statutory and internal requirements.
What will your key responsibilities include? This delivery-focused position requires a proactive leader who is customer-focused, can drive process improvements, and uphold exceptional service standards.
Lead, mentor, and support a team to ensure timely processing of loan requests, ensuring alignment with service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.Approve, recommend, or decline home loan applications within the established credit risk framework and individual DLA.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of risk issues related to home loan applications and implement effective controls to minimize operational and credit risk.Regularly review and optimize business processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.Act as an advocate for team development, fostering ongoing learning and capability uplift.Provide feedback and insights to the Credit Leadership Team, contributing to strategic credit initiatives and process improvements.Network internally to build strong cross-functional relationships, supporting initiatives that enhance team understanding of customer needs.What are we looking for? Proven experience in leading a team, with accountability for achieving team outcomes.Home loan credit assessment experience and application of a Delegated Lending Authority (minimum 5 years' experience within a team-based, fast-paced, technology and customer service-driven environment).A strong understanding of credit assessment processes, considering our customers' banking, credit reports, and personal circumstances.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly written communication.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage workflow and processes related to loan applications.Certificate IV or equivalent in a relevant field such as Finance, Banking (advantageous).What can you expect from us?
