Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our students with SEN in a range of activities outside of the classroom.
As part of our committed SEN team, you will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to deliver tailored lessons that are accessible, engaging, and fun for our students.
This role requires a strong understanding of SEN, a passion for sport and the outdoors, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of our learners.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the planning and delivery of sport and physical education activities that are accessible to students with a variety of needs.Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities, ensuring they are fully included and encouraged.Support students in developing their motor skills, coordination, and teamwork abilities in a safe and supportive environment.Assist in managing and maintaining equipment, ensuring it is used safely and appropriately.Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel motivated, valued, and supported.Monitor and report on the progress of students in PE lessons, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and staff to create a holistic support plan for each student.Be proactive in helping students overcome challenges and encourage independence in physical activities.Requirements:Previous experience working with children, preferably in an SEN or educational setting.A passion for sport and physical education, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.Knowledge of various SEN, including physical, emotional, and learning difficulties, and an understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to meet their needs.Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.A relevant qualification in sport or a related field is desirable, but not essential.A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work under pressure.Why Join Us?The opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.A supportive and friendly team environment.Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.A rewarding role with the chance to develop your skills and career in SEN education.How to Apply: Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you are passionate about this role to (url removed).The Supply Register is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
