Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS) Division
Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS) is a Division within the Department of Finance delivering services to, and for government. MaPS provides Parliamentarians, former Prime Ministers and their respective employees employed under the MOP(S) Act with a range of facilities and services to assist them in undertaking their duties.

Human Resources (HR) Frameworks Branch
The Human Resources (HR) Frameworks Branch is responsible for providing HR services to staff of parliamentarians employed under the MOP(S) Act including payroll services, IT systems support, policy development and advice. We work closely with a range of stakeholders including other government departments and agencies in relation to the employment framework covering MOP(S) Act staff.

The HR Service Delivery Team is responsible for the management and administration of payroll, systems and processes associated with human resources data and reporting. We are committed to improving service standards through innovation, systems and process enhancements.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We have several vacant positions at various levels in the HR Service Delivery Team within Ministerial and Parliamentary Services. The team members will be required to undertake tasks related to payroll and administrative processes and provide advice and support to approximately 2300 staff of parliamentarians throughout their employment cycle.

The team is based in Canberra and has approximately 30 members split into sub-teams responsible for providing payroll, systems and administrative services to staff employed under the under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (MOP(S) Act).

Systems and Reporting Team

APS 6 Team Leader

As an APS Level 6 Manager in the organisational management and reporting team you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the SAP payroll system by maintaining organisational structures, positions and allocations for Parliamentarian's Electorate and Ministerial offices for around 2,300 MOPS Act staff. You will also be responsible for the system maintenance and fortnightly pay run.

The successful applicant will be required to:

Lead and supervise the SAP payroll system administration team responsible for administering the pay and conditions of service for staff employed under the MOP(S) Act.Provide high quality advice to Senators, Members and their employees in relation to pay and associated entitlements provided under the MOP(S) Act.Manage the implementation and testing of SAP system updates and upgradesProvide high level and transactional reports from SAP as required.Provide assistance and training to other staff in relation to the use of SAP, particularly when there has been a system update or upgrade.Represent the Branch at meetings related to payroll system administration and other relevant matters.Assist other teams within the Branch and Division, and other duties as required.
