About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our Central Functions line of business reporting to the Infrastructure and Delivery Manager.
We are flexible in terms of location and will accept applications from Adelaide – SA and Melbourne – VIC We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as hybrid working.
You will be a key technical resource within a dynamic team, working across aspects of project delivery, sustainment & Level 3 support for administration of Windows & Linux based systems, reporting to the Infrastructure Delivery Manager Key responsibilities include: Assist in ensuring that the Computing infrastructure platforms and associated data storage sub systems meet the current performance, reliability, & security requirements of the project or business.
These services may include general Windows Server Management, Active Directory, VMWare, Compute, Storage, Backups, File and Messaging Systems Provide System Administration of the Windows Server Computing platforms and associated data storage sub systems for effective governance and functional requirements Assist with the planning and design, in both the team and as an individual, to ensure the Computing platform infrastructure is fully documented and supportable Assist in installing new servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage in accordance with standards and operational requirements Assist in upgrades and patches of operating systems by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new systems Undertake Incident and Service Request resolution for the services within the portfolio in line with service level expectations Communicate with vendors to resolve technical issues Some planned after hours and weekend work will be required, including participation on the On-call roster Work in a multi-disciplined team Opportunities exist to cross skill in Linux and database technology spaces About YOU Extensive Windows Systems Administrator experience Good communications skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team Good problem solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrated desire and ability to provide technical leadership Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of the latest Windows Server Operating Systems Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of Active Directory, SCCM, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Services Demonstrated expertise in the Administration of Windows File Servers Proficient in VMware VSphere Administration (6.7 and later) and HCI such as DELL Vxrail Proficient in PowerShell Scripting Willingness to learn and share knowledge Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
