A little about the role Children/Youth Support Workers are responsible for supporting our young people placed in family based Out of Home Care (OOHC). This work is varied and may include planning and supporting activities, individual and or group work, transportation and may include supervising family contact. We look for people who have empathy and an enormous passion to making a positive and lasting difference to our children and young people's lives.
We have casual positions available statewide working across our Foster Care and Families for Life program.
Additional responsibilities of the role include: Providing various types of support to Child and Youth placed in foster care (Transport, Social/Community, Education and Mentoring)Collaborative support, advocating for the child and participation in our Key Care team FrameworkAssist in care / behaviour plans for our children and young peopleCompletion of required documentation, for operational complianceCompliance of business policies and child protection procedureAbout you To be successful in this role, you'll come with:
Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young peopleEnergy and enthusiasm, as well as a passion for working with children and young peopleA certificate in Human Services and or a similar relevant field (minimum Cert 4)A current First Aid CertificateConfidence and ability to deal with difficult situationsTraining / experience in child abuse / trauma related behaviours, youth Mental Health and similarAvailability during weekdays, during the afternoon and early evenings (some weekend work may apply also).Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.My Key Assets The health and wellbeing of our people is at the core of our employee and client experience.
