About the RoleReporting to the Manager Engineering Copper SA, you will lead a diverse team of Project Management Planning and Controls Specialists to provide governance across the existing Small Project portfolio and strategic planning of future projects.
To be successful in this role you will have a solid project management understanding and be a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to allow you to respectfully influence while building trusted and valued relationships with project sponsors across all business areas at all levels and ensure the best outcome for the business.
You will thrive in often changing environments, demonstrating this through being agile in ensuring focus is retained on value-add activities. You will be an action-oriented problem solver, have a strategic outlook and strong decision-making skills.
This position will be based in Adelaide, with occasional site travel. In this role you will:Foster an inclusive team culture of care where members feel safe, enabled & engaged.Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in the BHP Field Leadership program.Provide Portfolio Management and support to the Project Delivery teams, aligning key drivers for investment and implementing appropriate prioritisation methodologies.Provide Strategic Decision making to align the portfolio with long term business objectives and ensuring decisions are based on evidence and data.Develop a framework for reviewing and analysing information from multiple sources to draw insights and provide guidance in decision making.Engage with stakeholders and business partners working towards shared outcomes.Identify and assess project risks and use the BHP framework to build a risk aware culture that enables safe and productive outcomes.Conduct portfolio level benchmarking and continuously improve capital allocation processes.Develop & enhance project controls processes, tools and dashboards to enable streamlined and efficient ways of working. About YouRelevant tertiary qualification in a business/ engineering/ trade-related discipline or demonstrated business experience.Demonstrated experience and success in team leadership roles.Strong problem-solving skills including organising and analysing multiple data sources.Strong desire for continual improvement and simplification through innovation.Ability to manage internal stakeholders and external consultants and contractors through a program of multiple capital projects.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports for senior BHP business leaders.Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.Advanced Excel, MS Project, Power BI and SAP skills will be highly regarded.
