Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Statutory Accountant with expertise in financial consolidation and reporting to join our Finance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements, supporting statutory reporting, including reviewing intercompany reconciliations and resolving transaction differences, and reviewing financial and non-financial data relating to group consolidation.
This role involves collaboration with subsidiaries and various finance teams to enhance reporting efficiency and maintain high standards of financial accuracy.
As the group continues to evolve and restructure, this role is expected to adapt to changes, taking on new challenges and responsibilities to support the organization's growth and transformation.
Key responsibilities include preparing consolidated group financial statements, associated notes, schedules, and analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
The role also oversees the consolidation of monthly management accounts for internal reporting, including accounting for acquisitions and divestments, and resolving intercompany mismatched balances and transactions.
Additionally, the Statutory Accountant will liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during external audits, implement the intercompany module as part of the ERP system implementation, and maintain processes to streamline intercompany elimination and reconciliation.
Enhancing reporting systems and tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the consolidation process, staying informed of changes in accounting standards and regulations that may impact group reporting, and ensuring all reporting complies with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements are also key aspects of this role.
The successful candidate will partner with subsidiaries' finance teams to provide guidance on accounting policies and Group policy requirements, assist with tax effect accounting calculations as part of group reporting, and handle other ad hoc reports and assignments as required.
Qualifications Professional certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent).
Strong experience in statutory reporting, financial consolidation, or similar roles, preferably within a multinational organisation or accounting firm.
Proficiency in consolidation processes, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity group reporting.
Knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS, AASB.
Knowledge of tax is highly desirable.
Experience with tax effect accounting is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
