Key responsibilities:
Provide leadership of a best practice financial services service team by: Monitoring workflows, resource allocation, team performance, and internal controls. Reporting on processing volumes against service agreement timings and identifying and proactively mitigating risks of breach to agreed timeframes. Encouraging innovation and a 'high performance' team culture. Contributing to operational planning, performance measures, and budget projections. Providing specialist and professional advice to internal and external clients on financial services and on other matters relating to the provision of the current General Ledger & Reporting Service. Communicating effectively with staff, senior management, auditors, and client agencies, and providing advice to the Manager on matters relating to the GL&R service. Developing and maintaining positive, constructive relationships with clients and other stakeholders to ensure services and advice are responsive to their current needs and future direction. Providing advice and support for organisational change of the QSS financial services stream group providing shared corporate services to Queensland Government agencies. Working collaboratively with other QSS business groups to provide feedback and advice to the Manager and Director on existing and new business process reform initiatives, and continuously reviewing, enhancing, and implementing improved standardised work practices and tools to achieve real and measurable change and productivity improvements. Building the capability of staff to sustain performance and meet current and future demands through effective coaching, mentoring, and the implementation of professional development strategies. Promoting an accountable, fair, and safe work environment through the implementation of quality human resource management practices including workplace health and safety, employment equity, anti-discrimination, and performance management.
