Metroll Cairns branch of Metroll Queensland Pty Ltd is part of a national group of companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and selling of metal roofing products, with operations in Queensland and interstate.
Metroll is the largest independent manufacturer of steel building materials in Australia.
Due to an internal relocation, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant preferably with a manufacturing background.
The role will be responsible for the full range of accounting functions, as well as support the manager in maximizing the profitability of the long-established Metroll Cairns.
The role includes responsibility for the supervision of accounts receivable and accounts payable members of staff.
While this role is based in Cairns, it will report both to the local branch managers and to head office.
Key responsibilities will include: Maintenance of general ledger with associated Balance Sheet reconciliationsAccurate and timely completion of monthly sales report, financial reportingKnowledge of relevant accounting standards including AASB 16 - LeasesEnd of month stock take and variance analysisYear end audit / Tax schedule preparation / Statutory reporting preparationMaintain record of fixed assets and update depreciation schedulesTimely preparation and lodgement of BAS and other statutory lodgementsFinancial budgeting and forecastsCashflow managementMaintenance and development of Internal controlsAssist in analysing cost of projects / products when requestedPreparation of weekly payrollAny other duties as requestedRequired Experience & Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in accountingMinimum 3 years working in a similar roleAbility to work independentlyA keen eye for detail will be essential for the role, as each facet of the business requires tight control to ensure that accurate and timely management information is available on a monthly basis.
Manufacturing experience is highly regarded.
