The Maximum Security Advisory Team (MSAT) provides high-level advice and support to the authorised delegate and relevant committees for consideration and decision-making in relation to maximum security or maximum security referred prisoners.
The Statewide Manager, Maximum Security Team will provide advice regarding the standards and principles related to sentence management practices and legislative compliance for prisoners referred and managed as maximum-security classification. The role is also responsible for providing strategic direction and policy advice to Senior Executive staff relating to sentence management functions for maximum security classification prisoners, and the overall management of human, financial, and physical resources within the unit.
The essential requirements for this role are: Experience and understanding of the assessment, risk management, and case management of high-risk and serious offenders. Demonstrated community and stakeholder engagement and relationship management, including with special interest groups at a senior management level. Strong management capabilities with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, and encourage others to meet high standards. Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of offender assessment intervention and treatment planning. Demonstrated ability to provide operational and strategic advice in relation to sentence management functions for prisoners classified, or referred for consideration for, maximum security. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpretation skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources, and other relevant issues. Demonstrated knowledge, interpretation, and application of legislation, policies, and procedures. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
