This is a pivotal career opportunity in a strategic forward-thinking environment to enhance floodplain policy and strategy.
It is responsible for leading the development and implementation of floodplain management policies and the state strategy, including reforms and approaches for state significant precincts.
As the leader of floodplain policy and strategy, it has a strong focus on leading an effective and proactive risk culture and ensuring the department continues to drive best practice floodplain management.
What you'll bring We're looking for a proactive self-starter who thrives on delivering outstanding results with others.
You will have a proven track record in working collaboratively in complex risk management across government and organisations to influence policies and programs and to deliver strategic outcomes.
Your advanced critical thinking and problem solving, stakeholder management, policy design and development skills and experience in managing people will enable you to lead change while balancing policy objectives to drive floodplain management.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications An understanding of the operational and policy obligations for the water sector is desirable.
Demonstrated experience delivering complex policy and/or projects is highly desirable.
Familiarity with government processes and operations and experience in the provision of strategic advice to government at a senior level is desirable.

The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
