Provide timely, efficient, cost-effective forensic pathology services and participate in team meetings involving colleagues, scientists and clients such as coroners and police.
Key competencies (role specific criteria) Demonstrated contemporary knowledge, skills and ability in Forensic Pathology and high level of professionalism required in the position, especially objectivity.Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis and management.Qualifications, registrations and other requirements Current registrars completing their training in late 2024 or early 2025 are strongly encouraged to apply.We understand that some people may require adjustments to the workplace or the way the work is performed. All applicants are encouraged to advise the panel of any support or reasonable adjustments (i.e. building access, wheelchair access, interpreting services etc.) that may be required.Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in the relevant Pathology discipline (FRCPA, or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist with RCPA scope of practice recognition in Forensic Pathology.Alternatively, applicants with FRCPA (or equivalent) who hold specialist registration with AHPRA and RCPA scope of practice in anatomical or general pathology may be considered. However, they would need to show evidence of enrolment with RCPA to train for and sit the Diploma in Forensic Pathology (DFP) examination.Knowledge of the ISO 15189 NATA Medical Laboratories, NPAAC standards and understanding of continuous accreditation for all laboratories across a diverse network.How to applyPlease provide the following information to the panel to assess your suitability:
