Remuneration will be a pro-rata annual salary.The Engineering function houses the capabilities and roles necessary to develop the Digital ecosystem platform which includes front-end, back-end, cloud and platform capabilities embedded throughout. The specific skillsets will vary based on the technology and the tech being used, as well as how it aligns to the cross-functional teams. Engineering is responsible for establishing engineering practices within the Digital Ecosystem.What you'll be doingDriving best practices in backend and core systems integration engineering, ensuring consistency, performance, and maintainability across our product portfolio.Optimizing our backend engineering processes to maximize efficiency and velocity.Coaching the delivery teams on how to uplift backend engineering practices aligned to the team's deliverables – getting hands-on and leading by example through initiatives and OnePass roadmap feature delivery where required.Driving knowledge uplift in areas such as API development and designing event-driven systems.Uplifting the tooling and support to delivery teams for a good developer experience around backend engineering, via both part of communities and collaboration with central platform teams.Maintaining an up-to-date view of the technology industry trends and developments associated with API and event-driven systems.Establishing standards and engineering best practices, supporting operational activities such as process automation and compliance activities.Improving and refining existing product functionality and user experience elements by participating in monitoring, support, and continuous improvement of the production environment.Identifying and advocating for new technologies, libraries, and tools that can enhance our product engineering capabilities.Championing a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.What you'll bring to the tableExperience having led, mentored or developed a team of software engineers.Proven experience with designing and building consumer-facing and/or enterprise platforms at scale.Experience with complex event-driven architectures.Solid exposure to CICD and AWS ecosystems.Active listening skills and empathy towards team members.Ability to effectively communicate concerns when things don't feel "right."Aptness to work with change and uncertainty addressing team's concerns as needed.Demonstrated success working with agile and Lean methodologies.Capable of driving quality best practices within cross-functional teams.Why OneDigital?Working in a community of industry-leading innovators with a diverse and deep set of skills and experience, you will learn, collaborate, and co-create to achieve great things.You'll have ownership of your role, which will allow you to find the right balance between stretch and sustainability, work, and life.Culture of comradery and collaboration - OneTeam.Plus, all the tools and learning you need, the tone is set for you to shine and succeed.We know that diversity fosters greater innovation and better customer connection, so we strive to create a team where everyone feels like they belong.
