St Malo Bakery is looking for a positive and passionate leader to take the reins as Production Supervisor, a crucial role for the success of the business.
St Malo Bakery is an award-winning wholesale bakery based in Sydney, renowned for crafting artisan breads and pastries for some of the best burger joints, cafes, pubs, clubs, hotels, and restaurants across Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast, Newcastle and surrounding areas. Our passion for traditional baking methods, combined with freshly milled flour and premium ingredients allows us to create products that consistently elevate dining experiences for our clients.
We supply businesses with high-quality bread, from our signature St Malo burger buns to sourdoughs and pastries. Our products are rooted in old-world techniques but designed to meet the modern needs of the hospitality industry.
In the Role as a Production Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Enhancing the day-to-day efficiency across the Bakery Managing all aspects of the wholesale production ensuring a consistently high standard of all products Ensuring all HACCP procedures and policies are followed and maintained Supervising and leading a team of 15-20 skilled professionals and process workers Rostering, overseeing leave requests and other HR functions Applying problem-solving expertise in a handmade and automated equipment environment Championing a culture of positivity, safety and quality through training, setting high standards, and leading by example Setting up and maintaining process flows and additional processes for the team Mentoring, coaching, and training operational staff to ensure clear understanding and consistent accountability Collaborating with the General Manager and Operations Manager to swiftly identify and rectify quality issues Generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) Promptly reporting any major malfunctions of plant and equipment to the Operations Manager Maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards Taking a proactive approach to drive efficiency improvements Strategic planning and execution for wholesale production Controlling food and labour costs Seeking ways to eliminate wastage Maintaining an open channel of communication with the owners and managers of the business Maintaining a healthy, clean and safe working environment Carring out stock rotation on FIFO basis Managing the team cleaning and maintaining all bakery equipment To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Previous experience in Food Manufacturing in FMCG, Medium to large Bakery and/or large-scale catering/hospitality Willingness to work week day and weekend shifts Hands-on with an enthusiastic and positive attitude Exceptional communication skills Demonstrated versatility, adaptability, and a strong sense of enthusiasm The ability to meet deadlines and achieve production targets consistently A self-motivated and autonomous work ethic, coupled with a strong team spirit Experience with HACCP and WHS Ability to use Excel and Deputy Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to apply You love food and the world of bakery and are meticulous about quality, always looking at ways to improve the processes for better quality outcomes.
