At Amazon Web Services, we're hiring highly technical cloud architect specialised in data analytics to collaborate with our customers and partners to derive business value from latest in analytics services.
Our consultants will develop and deliver proof-of-concept projects, technical workshops, and support complex projects.
These professional services engagements will focus on customer solutions such as batch and real-time data capture and analysis, driving data driven decisions and desired customer outcomes.
Key job responsibilities - Expertise - Collaborate with pre-sales and delivery teams to help partners and customers learn and use services such as AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, AWS Lake Formation, Amazon DataZone and Amazon Quicksight - Solutions - Deliver technical engagements with partners and customers.
This includes participating in pre-sales visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating packaged data analytics service offerings.
- Delivery - Engagements include projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services.
Engagements may include migration and modernisation of existing data applications and development of new data applications using AWS cloud services.
- Insights - Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps.
Share real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services.
- Push the envelope – Cloud computing is reducing the historical "IT constraint" on businesses.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in delivering Data and AI Strategy including Data as a Product and Data Mesh aligned architectures.
- Experience of designing and implementing Enterprise Scale Big Data Platforms, Data Lakes and/or Data Warehouse.
- Experience in leading discovery and design workshops including estimating, scoping and delivering customer proposals aligned with Analytics Solutions - Demonstrated experience in data architecture, including data access patterns, data modeling, data governance, design patterns, and architecture principles.
- Experience developing software and data engineering code in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, PySpark, Node, etc) and tools including (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Hue, Zookeeper, HCatalog, Solr, Avro, Parquet, Iceberg, Hudi) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment - Hands on experience leading large-scale global data analytics projects aligned with business use cases.
- Experience in Data Quality management: Processes to measure and manage data quality, enforce data controls, and provide data assurance.
- Implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments - Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
