The Speech Pathologist will join a growing Speech Pathology team providing a service across Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, with the opportunity to rotate work areas over time to build skill and ensure variety.
Areas of work within Rehabilitation include: Three inpatient rehabilitation wards at Modbury HospitalRehabilitation in the Home (RITH)Day Rehabilitation Service based in the Specialist Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centre adjacent to Modbury HospitalAreas of work within Geriatrics include: Inpatient Geriatric Rehabilitation ward based at Modbury HospitalGeriatric Evaluation Management unit based at Modbury HospitalGeriatrics in the Home (GITH)The Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) ward based at Lyell McEwin HospitalNorthern Reablement & Intermediate Care to Return Home (NRICH) based in the HEALTHIA Residential Aged Care Facility adjacent to Lyell McEwin HospitalOlder Persons Emergency Review and Assessment Service (OPERA) based in the Playford Health HubIn this role you may also be required to be part of the rotational weekend roster.
As a Speech Pathologist in Aged Care, Rehabilitation, and Palliative Care, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalised treatment plans, empowering patients to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.
Your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessmentsDeveloping and implementing evidence-based treatment plansProviding education and support to patients, families, and caregiversCollaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated careMinimum Requirements: To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
