The Australian National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Human Resources (HR) Advisor with a strong focus on performance management & WHS to join our HR team in this full-time, ongoing APS Level 6 position.

The key duties of the position include: The Senior HR Advisor will report to, and work collaboratively with, the HR Manager to provide a range of internal advisory services to build people management capabilities across all levels of the Museum. The role will provide complex advice across a spectrum of human resources matters including WHS, probation, and performance. The Senior HR Advisor will contribute to process improvement, policy and strategy development initiatives, and support their implementation through the provision of advice and training.
Key Accountabilities
Under limited direction, this position is responsible for delivering the following functions:
In consultation with business areas and senior leadership, develop, implement and manage work health and safety and wellbeing programs. Provide advice on the application of work health and safety legislation and Museum policies and procedures. Contribute to implementation and continuous improvement of wellbeing and work health and safety management systems in accordance with legislation and Museum policies. Engage and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve work health and safety issues. WHS case management. Develop, implement and advise on human resources initiatives, policy, procedures, and guidelines aligned with business strategies and the Enterprise Agreement. Partner with business areas to provide complex and timely advice across a broad range of human resources disciplines particularly in relation to WHS and Performance Development. Oversee and manage the Performance Management Framework. Selection Criteria Significant experience in Work Health and Safety management, combined with knowledge of relevant APS frameworks. Ability to provide detailed work health and safety professional and policy advice and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. A strong business partnering focus, with a commitment to fostering internal and external relationships. Be able to influence others to ensure Work Health & Safety objectives are achieved, and effectively liaise with stakeholders to ensure that the Museum meets Work Health & Safety compliance and reporting requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and accurately. Experience in managing and delivering human resources projects. Qualifications and/or Relevant Experience Required Mandatory WHS or Human Resources qualification and/or AHRI membership highly regarded.
