The Role: Site ManagerThe Site Manager role is a dynamic and exciting position requiring strong team-building and supervisory skills.
You will initially lead a small team, focusing on achieving the highest level of performance.
The position involves developing and implementing systems to improve site efficiency, liaising with customers and contractors, and ensuring the site's safe and effective operation.
Key Responsibilities Team Building: Foster an excellent working environment through team commitment and loyalty.Safety:Conduct safety inspections, audits, and assessments.Maintain near-miss and incident reporting systems.Site Security: Ensure the security of the office, bays, and all plants and equipment.Staffing: Plan shifts for casual employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels.Operations:Manage the sorting of recyclable materials.Identify and appropriately manage unacceptable or illegal waste.Ensure the safe and even distribution of waste within loading bays.Coordination: Liaise with:Head Office for smooth yard operations and plant maintenance.Transport Manager to coordinate equipment and stock movements efficiently.Administrative Duties:Oversee future site growth and development under Head Office guidance.Ensure accurate completion of staff timesheets.The Successful Candidate Will Have: Demonstrated understanding of recycling or waste transfer station operations.Basic corporate and computer skills.Ability to price according to the company Price Schedule.Proven record-keeping, cash-handling, and payment processing skills.High-level communication and interpersonal abilities.Strong people management and leadership capabilities.General working knowledge of recycling.Experience in operating and maintaining plants and equipment.Current Forklift Licence (preferred).Operator's Licence for Backhoe (LL) and/or Excavator (LE) (preferred but not required).Ability to manage heavy equipment production, maintenance, and spare parts.Leadership in coaching safe practices and working with care.Transport and logistics experience in the waste industry (highly regarded).Why Join Us?
