The Role Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures more than 50 milk, milk-based, and cream products.
All products are made from fresh milk sourced directly from Tasmanian dairy farms.
The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operates six days a week, and employs around 50 people.
Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, this role will lead manufacturing teams to identify best practices and improvements that will increase the site's productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Additionally, the role will have ownership of the strategic and operating plan, proactively identify key strategic opportunities, and link strategy to action to enable safe, reliable, flexible, and cost-efficient manufacturing capability.
Responsibilities Managing resources to achieve safety, quality, environment, production cost and customer service targets/goals.
Develop and propose annual business plans that align with strategy.
Recommend budgets and KPIs and schedule key projects.
Monitor and review performance against Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Manage the development and delivery of the company's manufacturing process improvement program while also initiating, formulating, and implementing new manufacturing methods and processes.
Drive and uphold Bega Group's safety culture and actively participate in and contribute to site engagement activities.
About you Experienced in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Dairy/FMCG.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills are required.
Experience in planning, managing, and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the policy framework.
Proficiency in OPEX, Lean, and change management is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, lead, engage, and motivate the team.
