About the AllianceThe Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Australian and South Australian governments to deliver this city shaping project that will provide safe and efficient journeys for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, connect open spaces and recreational facilities, and unlock economic opportunities and growth for South Australia.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
About the RoleProvide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.
What you will doEnsure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards.Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager.Input information and undertake minor design on site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction.Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets.Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager.Maintain drawing register controls for the project.Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of construction works.Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.What we are looking forQualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalentDiploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalentChartered Engineering StatusExperience: Proven experience in the utilities sector, specifically across all major utility services including relocation and protection.Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure systems, regulations, and industry best practices.Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering.Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings.Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks.
