The purpose of this role is to lead a shift operations team (5) to ensure the plant assets are operating as they should be regarding established operational parameters and quality standards.
Through their team, the Shift Supervisor role has the responsibility of monitoring plant efficiency, product quality, and personnel and equipment performance.
The role is also required to assist with coordinating tradespersons during breakdown or maintenance situations.
What's involved: Supervision of people, process, and plant equipment of a continuous operating Sugar MillEnsure all activities comply with current legislation and regulations and organisational policies and proceduresPerformance management and supervision of the Shift teamsAnalyse and interpret operational performance data, take corrective action and improve or suggest improvements to the operation to ensure the plant is operated safely and efficientlySupervise minor breakdown and maintenance activities when necessaryUndertake project work as requiredFacilitate, identify, participate, and report on suitable continuous improvement programs or projectsWe are looking for: Suitable tertiary qualifications (Chemical Engineer or Industrial Chemistry) or experience in supervision in a sugar mill, or continuous industrial processProject management skills or experiencePerformance management skills or experience using accepted team leadership skillsAbility to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and develop solutionsHigh-level communication skills both written and verbalAbility to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at different levels within the businessAbout Sunshine Sugar: Sunshine Sugar is an Australian owned sugar milling and refining company operating 3 sugar mills and a refinery in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
