We are seeking casual coders who are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and can accurately analyse and abstract information for coding to join our high-quality performing team.Where you'll be working In this role, you will provide casual clinical coding service to the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District SESLHD) hospitals, such as Prince of Wales Hospital (Randwick), Royal Hospital for Women Randwick), Sydney Hospital Sydney Eye Hospital (Sydney), St George Hospital (Kogarah) and Sutherland Hospital (Caringbah) You will be working with an expert team that is supportive, dedicated, and passionate about clinical coding.

To provide high quality specialised clinical coding for SESLHD Hospitals by accurately translating inpatient episodes of care into code, using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Twelfth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) to meet Activity Based Funding (ABF) targets, SESLHD/NSW Health Service reporting timeframes and research requirements.

Demonstrated experience and competence in clinical classification using ICD-10-AM and high level proven knowledge of Australian Coding Standards.
Practical knowledge and experience in current disease classification in a tertiary teaching hospital.
Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) as per Activity Based Funding (ABF) principles and application within the health system.
Experience using 3M Codefinder and Patient Administration Systems/eMR.
Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both in an unsupervised environment and within a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
