The Orthopaedic Institute (TOI) is a Medibank Joint Venture with a group of renowned orthopaedic surgeons (SydOrtho) and Macquarie University Hospital (MUH). It is a world class orthopaedic surgical centre, comprising of 28 beds and 4 operating suites focussed on short stay orthopaedic procedures, delivering high quality care and exceptional patient experience including limited or no out of pocket costs to patients
 
The Opportunity
As the Associate Director, you will provide strategic direction for the day-to-day management of TOI and will liaise with the various clinical departments at MUH to ensure high quality service delivery for patients, doctors, and carers. Reporting to the Director of Nursing and leading a team of 3 NUMs, you will:
• Work in collaboration with the MUH executive team and the Operations Committee to develop and deliver a strategic operating plan for the TOI consistent with the vision, values, strategic plan and policies.
• Ensures the implementation of the MUH corporate and clinical governance framework and processes to ensure safe, quality care.
• Lead a high performing team to ensure safe, high quality and efficient patient care is delivered alongside an exceptional experience for patients and doctors.
• Support the development of further short stay orthopaedic services to be delivered, working closely with doctors and MUH Revenue and Health Fund Relations team.
• Report on the performance of TOI including financial, quality and safety, staff performance and risk to various internal and external stakeholders.
This is a permanent full-time position based onsite at Macquarie University Hospital.
About you
You are a Registered Nurse (AHPRA registered) and have considerable clinical leadership experience gained within a private hospital or day surgery centre with experience in recovery and/or perioperative rooms, as well as ward experience and a proven track record in leading, managing and developing teams. 

Your analytical skills enable you to easily interpret and present complex data and information via reports and dashboards to a varied audience.

You have previous experience with complex projects in a healthcare environment and have rounded out your commercial, operations and stakeholder management skillset, signifying your capacity to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
