About the role This full-time position is located on Bribie Island and the Seniors and Supported Living Chaplain works collaboratively as part of the Mission Action team to support the organisation and is a key team member providing holistic care and support to residents, family members and staff within a Residential Aged Care facility.
The role is responsible for the delivery of a number of key objectives which includes, but is not limited to:
Facilitating a holistic pastoral care program;Nurturing a Jesus Centred spirituality that includes the provision of religious services and programs;Functioning as a key member of the inter-disciplinary team contributing pastoral and spiritual insights toward the overall care of a resident;In partnership with staff, developing a healthy community where residents feel a sense of welcome and home; andWorking with volunteers to flourish further care within the service.Chaplains are members of the Church and Community Engagement team of Churches of Christ in Queensland and support activities aligned with the strategic direction of, and consistent with, the mission and values of Churches of Christ in Queensland.
About you You are active in your Christian faith and a "pastoral" type person having demonstrated competence in offering holistic pastoral care within a professional, interdisciplinary team environment.
You have leadership and management skills with the capacity to deliver results, have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage with range of internal and external stakeholders, have well-developed problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills, and demonstrated ability to manage challenges of change and innovation.
Your qualifications and experience for this role should also include:
Able to be endorsed as a Ministering Person with Churches of Christ in Queensland and a demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and the authority of the Christian Bible.Recognised pastoral care or ministry qualification or equivalent experience.Current driver's licence and willingness to travel inter/intrastate periodically.Three years' experience in providing pastoral care/chaplaincy services at an advanced level in a health or community environment.Possess a current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.Possess Working with Children (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
