Full time Overview
We are seeking a Senior Workforce Advisor, ideally with practical knowledge of Queensland industrial relations legislation and the ability to interpret industrial instruments, to provide high quality advice to our clients. You will be working within a dynamic and growing team of professionals, under the banner of the Local Government Association of Queensland, which has been representing and supporting local Queensland councils since 1896.
Our client base is largely local government councils in Queensland, however, we also undertake work on behalf of corporate clients. Day to day you will engage with a diverse client base across all areas of employment law. The role will provide unique exposure and insights into a complex and unionised environments that will challenge you across the employment law spectrum and provide opportunity to build on your professional experience and knowledge.

This is a full time role based in Newstead QLD and provides an opportunity to travel. Attractive base salary + additional 3% employer super contribution. About the role
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide Councils with high quality and timely advice on a broad range of human resources, industrial relations, and employee relations issues.Enterprise bargaining.Workplace investigations.Dispute management.Delivery of workshops on various employment relations topics.Advocacy in proceedings in industrial courts and tribunals.About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Degree level qualifications in Workplace/Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management or equivalent.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in human resources, industrial relations and employee relations practices, including industrial instrument interpretation.Experience in negotiating enterprise/certified agreements, preferably in the Queensland jurisdiction, and conducting workplace investigations, is critical to success in this position.Well developed interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to convey complex issues in a simple manner to diverse audiences.Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work on time and within budget.Knowledge of, or previous experience in the application of the Industrial Relations Act 2016 (Qld) and the Local Government Industry Award 2017 – State is highly desirable.A current driver's license and ability to travel.About Us
