About the position
Our Technical Operations team is looking for a permanent full-time Senior Vessel Manager to join our vessel management team.
The Senior Vessel Manager will oversee our vessel operations, including specialised self-unloading vessels, off-shore transhippers, and Handysize bulk carriers.
The Senior Vessel Manager will be in charge of the day-to-day operations and efficient management of vessels under their supervision.
The successful candidate will be required to travel both domestically and internationally.
The Senior Vessel Manager will be responsible for:
Ship management for their allocated vessels and periodical coverage for colleagues during holiday periods; Ship visits for technical support and condition inspections, including compiling associated reports; Planning, controlling, and executing dry-docks and all activities connected with ship maintenance and repairs; Involvement with crew management both onboard and ashore; Partnering with our HSEQ department on safety management, ISM compliance, investigations, recommendations, and emergency response; Monitoring voyage and operational performance of assigned vessels and providing appropriate assistance to senior onboard management; In conjunction with onboard senior vessel management and the purchasing department, procuring spares, stores, and arranging services for vessel operation; Financial management including budget preparation, operating expense controls, and variance reporting.
About you
Ideally 2-3 years' experience within a Vessel Manager/Superintendent position or similar maritime role; Onboard ship experience in a senior rank, preferably as Chief Engineer; A sound understanding of ISM, MARPOL, MLC, and ISPS; Safety leadership; Be a team player; Knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel; Ability to deliver practical solutions to complex problems; Ability to partner and build strong relationships with CSL customers; Driver's licence; Hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC); Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
