The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Underwriter/Underwriter to join the Motor Underwriting Team in Sydney. As a Motor Underwriter, you will be responsible for a Commercial Motor Fleet portfolio, with additional exposure to managing a Delegated Underwriting Authority Portfolio. You will be joining a close-knit team in the Sydney office, where we offer a true Hybrid role working from home and our CBD office.
Your new role
A day in the role may look a bit like this:

Underwrite existing policies and new business in accordance with organisational policy and underwriting standards
Plan and implement a strategy to attract and retain high value customers and to improve poor performing policies
Communicate with direct and general brokered policyholders regarding renewals and credit limits
Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls/visits
Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisation guidelines
Provide efficient and timely service & problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records

About you
To be successful in this Underwriting role you will have:

Solid working knowledge of Motor products from an Underwriting or Claims perspective
Motor Underwriting experience preferred
Broad insurance industry knowledge and experience is essential
Understanding of relevant Insurance market conditions
Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use for decision making
