The role of the Senior Strategic Support Officer will lead the development and improvement of business processes and systems to improve the functions of System Procurement while providing high-level support to the Chief Procurement Officer, System Procurement.
Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
The successful candidate will provide expert and authoritative advice to managers and staff regarding administrative systems and business processes, including in relation to information technology, establishment, staffing, payroll, recruitment, and training and development.

Demonstrated ability in managing system procurement projects and whole of government procurement policy matters to support the identification of risks and resolve issues using an innovative problem-solving approach. Demonstrated leadership skills and success, with the ability to work within and manage successful teams in line with the broader objectives of the Chief Procurement Officer, System Procurement, and the Department of Health's values. Demonstrated ability to provide timely and quality HR, finance, and business services advice in the management of continuous improvement programs and initiatives to support the Office of the CPO. Highly developed communication and engagement skills, including the ability to build internal and external relationships, provide advice, effectively influence, and collaborate with stakeholders in achieving business goals in a large complex business. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive matters, be responsive, well-organized, and manage time and competing priorities effectively while ensuring attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a team with flexibility and creativity in line with the broader objectives of the Chief Procurement Officer, Strategic Procurement and the Department of Health's values.
