About the role
The Senior Medical Officer (Anaesthetics) is responsible for providing high-quality Anaesthetics management across the required services at TPCH and MNHHS. This is a permanent, fixed-term temporary full-time or part-time opportunity to provide competent quality clinical care to patients and to actively participate in education, administration, and research endeavors.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:
Provision of advanced Anaesthetics Services for patients that are consistent with the Clinical Services Capability Framework of the relevant facilities.Participation in the on-call roster to provide after-hours services in accordance with the needs of TPCH and the Health Service.Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives in the Anaesthetics Department to ensure that all aspects of the service are regularly reviewed and opportunities for improvement identified.Provide close clinical supervision and professional development of Registrars and Junior Medical Staff in the department to ensure a high standard of clinical practice, including active involvement in the formative and summative assessment of these groups.Participate in and/or lead departmental research activities in collaboration with colleagues into areas relevant to Anaesthetics.
