Mackay Regional Council is looking for a Senior Specialist to join our Asset Management Team.
About this opportunity: This role focuses on advancing and refining asset management practices throughout the organisation. Key responsibilities include the continuous development and implementation of the MRC Strategic Asset Management Plan and the Digital Asset Management Plans. With strong leadership in place, it's an exciting time to join the Asset Management team and contribute to enhancing MRC's asset management capabilities.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can: Engage with stakeholders to present optimal scenarios and outcomes for MRC.Lead and drive outcomes through established governance groups within the organisation.Continuously assess MRC's maturity using established assessment models.Manage indirect reports, including members of the Senior Leadership team, to achieve their asset management maturity targets.Foster a culture of service excellence, ensuring stakeholders understand expectations while encouraging their input in decision-making, goal setting, and performance management.Represent the Asset Management Program at functions, meetings, and seminars, effectively conveying a positive image of the program, Directorate, and Council.Provide direction, clarity, and coaching, ensuring stakeholders have clear work objectives, regular reviews, feedback, and are positively engaged in the asset management process.Essential Qualifications and Experience: Qualification in Engineering, Asset Management or equivalentAsset Management Certificate such as CAAM (Certified Associate in Asset Management)Significant experience in lifecycle asset management of a range of asset classesExperience in ISO 55000, PAS55 or similar asset management frameworks, systems and techniques.Experience in leading and managing small teams and/or project teams.Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
