ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for the technical SEO performance of our various brand sites.
You will undertake comprehensive audits, and conduct industry, competitor and best practice research to develop strategies aimed at optimising the performance of our websites.
Reporting to the Web Dev Team Leader within the Marketing Department managed by the Head of Marketing, you will work closely with Web Developers, other SEO Specialists, Web Content Writers, Product Marketing, Creative, Marketing Project Management, Digital Ads, Social Media, Email Marketing and other teams inside and outside of Marketing.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Your core focus will be on optimising our sites for technical SEO best practices.
Identify and Resolve Technical Errors: Detect issues such as indexation, broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content, missing alt tags, canonical errors, code improvements and provide solutions to resolve them.
Conduct Comprehensive Technical SEO Audits: Use industry-standard tools to perform thorough audits of websites, identifying areas for improvement.
Analyse Website Structure: Evaluate the site's architecture to ensure it follows SEO best practices, including URL structures, internal linking, and breadcrumb navigation.
Assess Page Speed and Performance: Measure and analyse website loading times and overall performance, recommending optimisations to improve speed.
Evaluate Mobile-Friendliness: Check the website's mobile responsiveness and usability, ensuring it meets mobile-friendly standards.
Structured Data: Implement and maintain schema markup on our various brand sites to improve search rankings.
Competitor Analysis: Research and analyse competitors' websites to understand their SEO strategies, strengths, and weaknesses.
Study competitors' backlink profiles to identify opportunities and gaps in your own backlink strategy.
Stay Informed on SEO Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in technical SEO.
Analyse Search Engine Algorithms: Understand and research the impact of search engine algorithms on SEO strategies and performance.
Rankings Analysis: Monitor keyword rankings and search engine performance, reporting on changes and trends over time.
SEO Performance Reports: Contribute to detailed reports that summarise SEO audit findings, keyword performance, and other key metrics.
SEO Initiatives: Maintain records of all technical SEO adjustments, and measure/report on the effectiveness of implemented SEO strategies.
Backlink Building: Create and implement a comprehensive strategy for acquiring high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites, including development and execution of outreach campaigns.
Identify and disavow harmful or toxic backlinks.
Optimise E-commerce Platforms: Implement technical SEO strategies specific to e-commerce platforms to improve product visibility and conversion rates.
Local SEO Optimisation: Implement strategies to improve local search visibility, including managing Google My Business listings and local citations.
Collaborate with Web Development Teams: Work closely with web developers to implement SEO recommendations and troubleshoot technical issues.
Contribute to other SEO tasks and ad-hoc duties as assigned.
While this won't be your core responsibilities, where needed, contribute to: Keyword research and on-page keyword optimisation.
Content creation for link building.
Completion of daily SEO checklists.
ESSENTIAL – you must possess these skills 4+ years of SEO experience, with at least 2-3 years in a dedicated SEO role Experience in using SEO tools (Ahrefs or similar, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Microsoft Webmaster Tools) Experience managing large Word Press sites with thousands of pages Experience developing and executing backlinking strategies and schema markup Ability to translate complex data to meaningful insights and actionable items Strong work ethic and highly motivated DESIRABLE – bonus if you possess these skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
