The APVMA's Registration Management program is seeking applications for Senior Risk Managers to work as part of a broader team that delivers efficient regulatory services to support Australia's agvet chemical industry and Australian agriculture.
Located in either Canberra ACT or regional Armidale NSW, you will gain experience in the Australian Public Service, have access to a variety of flexible working arrangements, and be at the forefront of safeguarding public health, animal safety, and environmental well-being.
The Role Working collaboratively with staff across the APVMA, the Senior Risk Manager is required to manage the workflow of industry applications to ensure they are scientifically robust and meet regulatory and legislative requirements.
Their responsibilities may also include: Analysing and evaluating scientific and/or technical information.
Preparing high quality written documents and correspondence incorporating scientific and technical information for decision makers, applicants, and other stakeholders.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve application issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
Minimum Requirements To be a strong contender for the role, you will have: Work experience within the agricultural chemical regulatory framework or in a similar regulatory framework.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and provide pragmatic advice on complex scientific information.
A thorough understanding of chemical risk assessment and risk management principles.
Ability to work independently, prioritise a complex workload, and maintain a high standard of accuracy and meeting timeframes.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team across different locations.
Tertiary qualifications and work experience in a relevant scientific discipline.
