Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced Senior Regional Planner to join our client on a full-time, temporary basis until the end of 2024.
This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to significant regional planning projects, offering flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement based in Traralgon.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Are: Deliver statutory services for the department, including assessment of planning scheme amendments and planning permit applications.Provide expert planning advice in a timely manner, considering statutory, political, and legal contexts.Prepare and review high-level reports, briefs, and correspondence on complex planning matters.Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as government agencies, local governments, and development proponents.Support the Manager in resource and workflow management, and mentor less experienced team members.Foster a positive, collaborative work environment while contributing to broader team initiatives.Ensure cultural safety by promoting inclusive practices within the workplace.Perform other duties as required, in line with your skills and capabilities.To Be Suitable For This Role You Will Have: Tertiary qualification in land use planning or a related field.Strong knowledge of the Victorian planning system and demonstrated experience in both statutory and strategic land use planning.Experience assessing complex and strategically significant development proposals and planning scheme amendments - highly desirable.Valid driver's licence.Ability to develop sustainable solutions and work across multiple government levels.Proven experience in negotiating and building stakeholder buy-in.Ability to foster collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.Capable of delivering impactful advice and high-level communication tailored to varied audiences.Experience managing complex and competing stakeholder needs while facilitating innovative solutions.If you're ready to take on a challenging role in a dynamic environment with the chance to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
