Within CO+I, Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft's cloud business meeting all safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements.The DCD Construction Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) Sub Regional Metro Lead provides critical leadership, ownership and accountability for the team's deployment and delivery of large-scale, campus and/or regionally based delivery solutions to predictably deliver Data Center capacity.
This role is responsible for safe worksites by adhering to organizational and industry procedures; reviews prior audit results and relevant legislation to recommend and manage safety compliance.
Influences and provides direction and coaching to internal and external partners to facilitate and accomplish complex, critical issues which may significantly impact global construction projects.
Reviews and provides feedback to the team regarding resource procurement, allocation, and inventory.
Develops, manages, and reports on Safety, Quality, scope, schedule, and budget of all ANZ Sub Regional Metro projects.
Responsible for oversight and implements project risk identification/mitigation, governance and controls for all Sub-Regional work activities.

These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.ResponsibilitiesProvide critical leadership, ownership and accountability for the team's deployment and delivery of large-scale, campus and/or regionally based delivery solutions to predictably deliver Data Center capacity (e.g., new and/or retrofit Data Center solutions).Provides visible leadership and advocates for safe worksites by adhering to Microsoft EHS and EPC organizational requirements and industry best practices/procedures.Sets goals for internal and external project teams under their purview of responsibility, delegates responsibilities, measures performance against contracted key performance indicators (KPIs) and seeks and delivers feedback to achieve timely results.Develops, manages, and reports on Safety, Quality, scope, schedule, and budget of all ANZ Sub-Regional projects.Responsible for oversight and implements project risk identification/mitigation, governance and controls for all Sub-Regional work activities.Partners and provides critical leadership with peers in Engineering, Supply Chain and Project Controls that forms the ANZ Leadership Team (LT) with oversight of each of the Project Teams.Analyzes and recommends innovative delivery options utilizing best practices and trends.Supports the development and implementation of all organizational procedures and standards, and ensures they are followed by all team members and vendors.Influences and provides direction and coaching to internal and external partners to facilitate and accomplish complex, critical issues which may significantly impact global construction projects.Reviews and provides feedback to the team regarding resource forecasting, hiring, as well as supply chain strategies, equipment procurement, allocation, and inventory management that supports predictable project delivery.Leads the team's accountability for on-schedule delivery of all projects in the ANZ Portfolio by ensuring project progress reports including safety, quality scope, schedule, and budget are reviewed on a cadence that predictably delivers the business results.Conducts frequent site visits within the Sub-Region to assess project status, risk, directly supports and promotes project team morale.Provides Leadership and oversight of the project management teams to ensure that project reviews and status updates are based on current data, risk assessments and mitigation strategies.Leads and drives coordination for meetings and activities with vendors, cost managers, and/or owner/architect/contractors.Engages, advises, and collaborates with other internal teams to maintain the corporate vision and create goals for the projects.Prepares root cause analysis (RCA) and shares lessons learned with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the teams are learning and getting better together for the business.Establishes, reviews, approves, and communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to drive progress.Analyzes safety metrics and communicates and applies results to drive project action and individual development.Directs and oversees the management of vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts and prior audit results.Controls vendor performance relative to cash-flow and budget summaries.Oversees and implements project controls in work activities.Identifies and directs vendor scope of work, design review of site and building plans, change orders, and invoices.Oversees the creation and application of best practices for identifying and driving cost-effective solutions for the strategic and tactical delivery of a construction project.Identifies growth opportunities, builds development plans with direct reports, and conducts development discussions.Drives the execution of projects by identifying customer and operational needs, setting priorities, removing barriers and obstacles, and allocating resources.Partners and collaborates with other teams on related deliverables.Models compliance and represents the Microsoft Values and the One Microsoft culture.Promotes company policies, procedures, mission, and values, by training and providing direction to direct reports in their use and application.Establishes and communicates performance expectations; identifies performance gaps and monitors performance to ensure plans are met.
