We are partnered with a State Government Organisation, to recruit a Senior Records Management Officer for an 8-month assignment, travelling to schools across QLD to assist with record management.
Job Description We are seeking a Senior Records Management Officer to help manage and maintain departmental records across Queensland.
This is a hands-on role that involves providing expert advice, guidance, and training to school staff on how to properly manage, archive, and dispose of records in accordance with Queensland State Archives guidelines and government regulations.
As a Senior Records Management Officer, you will be a key resource for schools and departments, ensuring they comply with legislative and departmental record-keeping requirements while supporting their efforts to maintain effective information governance.
Provide Expert Advice: Guide school administrative staff on the proper appraisal and sentencing (deciding what to keep or dispose of) of large volumes of physical records in school environments.Ensure Compliance: Advise on and ensure compliance with Queensland State Archives schedules and departmental policies regarding the retention, transfer, and destruction of records.Training and Support: Deliver training and support to school and departmental staff on records management best practices, and mentor other team members as needed.Travel Across Queensland: Travel to schools and departments throughout Queensland to offer in-person support and ensure records are managed correctly.Project Involvement: Participate in state-wide projects, providing progress reports, identifying risks, and ensuring records are handled properly across the department.Prepare Reports and Documentation: Draft reports, briefing notes, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.The Successful Applicant Experience in Records Management: You have a solid understanding of paper-based records management principles, including compliance with government regulations and archives guidelines.Strong Communication Skills: You can explain complex records management processes clearly and provide training to staff at all levels.Attention to Detail: You're detail-oriented and can handle large volumes of records while ensuring nothing is missed.Self-Motivation & Teamwork: You can work independently but are also a valuable team player when collaboration is needed.Willingness to Travel: This role involves travel within Queensland to meet with school staff and provide on-site support.What's on Offer This role offers you an hourly rate of $89 + super, an opportunity to progress your career with this State Government Organisation, and:
