About the role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects and programs within the defined budget, time, scope, and quality constraints set by the project sponsor.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining robust program governance.
This involves providing senior-level leadership, oversight, and control, ensuring that all decision-making roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and effectively executed.
You will implement comprehensive processes for reporting, conducting meetings, and escalating issues, thereby ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the program lifecycle.
In addition to governance, you will lead high-level sessions to develop the program plan and schedule.
Your role will include reviewing and approving project plans to ensure they are in alignment with the overarching program strategy, schedule, and budget.
This strategic oversight will be crucial in driving the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they meet their defined objectives within the set constraints.
Your leadership will be key in coordinating efforts, managing resources, and maintaining focus on the program's goals.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership : Guide the program team in developing goals, schedules, and procedures for project completion.
Communication : Serve as the communication link to executive sponsors and the program steering committee, providing periodic briefings and status updates to program stakeholders.
Financial Management : Oversee the financial management of the program, including developing and using program-specific procedures for tracking and reporting expenditures against the budget.
Risk Management : Lead the creation of risk analysis and mitigation plans.
Ensure all stakeholders have a common and current understanding of the project, risks, and issues.
Change Management : Collaborate with the Change Manager to develop and implement communication plans for the transition cycle.
Project Handover : Develop and implement plans to transition projects to steady-state management, ensuring all resources are in place for ongoing operations.
Project Management : Ensure effective management of assigned projects to achieve defined business outcomes within budget, time, scope, and quality constraints.
Status Reporting : Regularly update management on project status and escalate any risks or issues to ensure project delivery and risk mitigation.
Resource Management : Ensure effective management of project team resources, both internal and external.
Continuous Improvement : Lead and implement agile practices and measurable continuous improvement initiatives.

About You
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Educational Background : Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record, preferably in business or a technical field.
Qualifications in the Project Management domain are essential.
Skills/Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
Knowledge of formalised Project Management methodologies.
Sound understanding of the retail banking industry.
Demonstrated vendor management experience.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Sound understanding of different methodologies and practical application of each.
Proficiency with core tool sets (MS Office, MS Project).
Experience with Sentient PPM (desired).
