Our client, a leading renewable energy investor, operator, and developer, is actively expanding its team and is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Development Manager based in Melbourne.
As a Senior Project Development Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving utility-scale renewable energy generation projects through all development stages. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: leading and managing utility-scale renewable energy projects from conception to completion. Site Identification: identify and evaluate potential project sites, taking into account technical, environmental, and regulatory aspects. Stakeholder Engagement: cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, authorities, and local communities to ensure the success of the projects. Permitting and Approvals: navigate and secure necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory frameworks. Financial Modelling: develop and analyse comprehensive financial models to assess project feasibility and optimise investment returns. Contract Negotiation: lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and other partners to secure favourable project terms. Risk Management: conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential project risks. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, will be essential to ensure project success. Community Engagement: establish and maintaining positive relationships with local communities, promoting transparency, and social responsibility. Technology Integration: stay abreast of emerging technologies and assessing their applicability to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector. They should have a proven track record of successfully delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects. Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks and permitting processes is essential. Exceptional leadership and communication skills are required. Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
